The collection was started to extend access to the digitized materials of the Russian State Library. Its launching was one more significant step towards proper arrangement of legal regulations between libraries and right-holders.

The collection includes:

  • monographs, both Russian and translated from foreign languages, and corpora of research works;
  • textbooks and manuals for higher and secondary educational institutions issued within last decade and reflecting latest  achievements of science and knowledge;
  • classical works which cannot be overestimated.

The scope of the collection items remains broad as ever:

  • literature on law by leading publishing houses: comments to legal materials, textbooks on law in Russia and abroad, etc.;
  • literature on psychology;
  • editions on economics;
  • monographs and textbooks on social and political sciences, on history, philology and culturology;
  • textbooks and manuals on physics and mathematical sciences;
  • books on engineering, logistics and construction sciences, editions on geology, ecology, oceanorgaphy, life-safety, design, etc.

Readers can access books of such publishing houses as “Prosveshcheniye” (eng.”Enlightenment”), “Unity”, “Cogito-Centre”, “Piter”, “Lan” (eng. “Doe”), “Finance and Statistics”, “Book World” and “Aleteya”, editions issued by the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and of the Russian Archives of National Standards, and lots of others, of course.

The collection has been developed on the basis of licence agreements with authors and right-holders under which they permit digitalization of their works and adding them to the assemblage of the RSL electronic library.
