The Universal Collection is an assemblage of the materials published after the year of 1830.

Here one can find works digitized by different projects. They include:

• Oeuvres of Russian classical literature of the 18-20^th centuries which are in the public domain, i.e. poetry and prose, journalism and memoirs, as well as epistolary works of Russian authors, editions of literary criticism and pieces of old Russian literature, Russian legends and tales, fairy tales and fables, byliny, proverbs, songs, Vitae of Saints, etc. (made available to the public under the joint project of the Russian State Library and the National Library of Russia, St. Petersburg);
• “National Symbols of Russia – History and Reality”;
• “Pre-Revolutionary Statutes of Russia”;
• The collection of editions in library science;
• Works of the contemporary authors who have entered agreements with the library.

Languages of the Universal Collection:

• Russian,
• Languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation,
• Main European languages, such as French, English and German,
• Polish, Italian, Swedish, Spanish, Norwegian, Dutch, Portuguese and other languages.

The collection is destined for diverse user circles, beginning with school children and up to researchers and scientists.
