“Artworks” is a collection of e-copies of artistic works stored at the Russian State Library.

At present the gathering comprises:

The collection of posters of the RSL. This assemblage is most significant among those ones encompassing posters published in Russia or the Soviet Union within the last century period. It demonstrates electronic copies of diverse documents, beginning with the pre-revolutionary advertisement posters and up to the noted soviet posters of the 20th century. Among the authors of the best species of the poster art there should be named all those great Russian graphic artists of the 20th century, such as V. Mayakovsky, D. Moor, G. Klutsis, A. Rodchenko, I. Toidze, N. Vatolina, V. Deni, V. Ivanov, A.  Kokorekin, V. Koretsky, the Kukryniksy, etc. The objects of a particular importance are the posters of the Great Patriotic War, the electronic collection of which is represented maximally complete.

The collection of imprints demonstrates the etchings of both, European and Russian schools. Here one can find engraved portraits and views of different places, as well as works with historical, mythological and religious plots. The objects of a particular value are the etchings depicting the Russian capital cities and oeuvres of the soviet masters too. The collection of the Russian folk prints joins the folk-song, historical, martial, religious and everyday lubok which used to be edited within the territory of the Russian Empire in the 19-early 20th centuries.

Photographs. Their plots cover numerous notable events of the Russian history, beginning with the second half of the 19th century. They present railroad construction, life of Russian cities and towns, images of most prominent architectural monuments and so on.

The collection of the applied graphics include postcards and bookplates, illustrations and samples of artistic lables, advertising package sets and other decorative elements of confectionery, parfum and canning productions.
